Associate Professor & Chair of Communication & Media Studies
Deputy Dean of School (Media Communication & Culture)
Research Fellow, Asia Research Centre @ Murdoch University

"I love studying the media and their effects on our everyday lives. I grew up as an avid film-goer, newspaper reader and radio/TV 'addict', and still am, although I don't have as much time to keep abreast of everything these days. Thankfully, we now have digital devices and websites to capture, record and catch-up on missed programmes! I teach in the broad areas of media and mass communication, with a focus on global media, Asian media (Singapore especially), new media discourses and politics of the media (which are also my research interests).

The best part about teaching in this area is that it is never static or boring because technologies and news change constantly. Hopefully, I won't get outmoded too ;o)"

  • BA (First Class Honours) in Communication Studies (Murdoch University)
