Senior Lecturer, Physics and Nanotechnology

"Nanoscience and Nanotechnology is an emerging field of science and it encompasses the major sciences of physics, chemistry biology and engineering. With the advent of nanotools for the characterisation of nanomaterials and processes, we are constantly learning about new processes and properties of materials at the nano scale.

We have a very enthusiastic group of nanotech students and scientists within the Murdoch Applied Nanotechnology Research Group here at Murdoch, especially focused on the areas of renewable energy, desalination, carbon nanomaterials and bionanotechnology. It gives me great satisfaction to see some of our research efforts paying off as in the case of the biocompatible nanomembrane for skin burns and the positive results on the nanobone project so far.

Communicating to our students, this drive and passion in scientific research, is very important to me and it gives me great pleasure to see their research efforts paying off after a while."
