We asked our IT graduate whose now working in Oman, Middle East, as Director General of Information Technology for the Ministry of Higher Education to share some thoughts on his experiences at Murdoch...

  • What was your degree?

  • "PhD in Information Technology (Examining the impact of e-privacy risk concerns on citizens’ intentions to use e-government services: An Oman perspective)."
  • What inspired you to become a Murdoch student?

    "The friendly atmosphere at the IT School. From the very first moment I was introduced to the staff, I was made to feel welcome and that my research was very worthwhile. I am proud to be a Murdoch student and I would always encourage other Omanis to be too."
  • What was it about the Mudoch experience that helped you get ahead?

    "In addition to the experience I gained undertaking research, I got a part time job as a lecturer and tutored in many units. These experiences have proven to be instrumental in my recent promotion and has made the transition to my new position far easier."
  • What was your first degree-related job after you graduated?

    "I work for the Omani government in the IT field."
  • What are you passionate about?

    "Going back to the Murdoch campus and Perth and renewing those important bonds developed during my time on the campus."
  • What are you doing now?

    "Now I am a Director General of Information Technology for the Ministry of Higher Education."
  • What are you most proud of achieving since you left uni?

    "Being a Murdoch Uni graduate and having achieved some international publications."
  • What is the most useful life lesson you learned at Murdoch that has nothing to do with your degree?

    "The importance of having adequate analytical skills."
  • How do you want to make a difference in the future?

    "To see Oman successfully adopt successful e-services in all sectors."
