Teaching labs

Radiography Positioning labRadiography Positioning lab

Student studying with us, have access to hands-on training in chest and musculoskeletal radiography, radiography positioning laboratory, using different styles of x-ray machines.

Equipment is typical of machinery used in many modern chiropractic facilities, but also includes imaging tables for training in extremity imaging and two “detuned” x-ray machines used for teaching and practice sessions throughout the day. As they are inactive, students can also use them ‘after hours’ without direct supervision.

We use a video projection system during teaching sessions to ensure all students can see the detail as it is being presented during workshops. Additional training with state-of-the-art digitally-based equipment is also provided through our outpatient clinic.

Radiological Interpretation labRadiological Interpretation lab

Students develop their radiological identification and assessment skills throughout their program of study - much of this occurring in the Radiology Lab.

The lab uses a unique recessing light-box system, which allows the room to serve as both an imaging lab and a small to medium-sized group lecture venue. This means hard-copy images produced during workshops can then be projected on screens for class discussion.

We still use film-based and digital imaging files to teach student’s x-ray interpretation skills and our school benefits from a comprehensive imaging library located within the facility.

The Diagnostic Skills labDiagnostic Skills lab

The diagnostic skills laboratory is filled with modern equipment used for teaching physical examinations, demonstrating clinical diagnostic skills and apparatus-use, and conducting clinical simulations. It is also equipped with high-quality examination tables and heart/breath sound mannequins.

The laboratory is also kitted-out with high-tech audiovisual equipment using high-definition projectors and tracking cameras to capture classes and skills demonstration, enabling online delivery.

The diagnostic skills laboratory is an inviting and appealing learning environment for undergraduate students, as is also attracting postgraduate research and clinical teaching. Equipment and facilities are available to students during teaching time and after-hours.

The Chiropractic Technique labChiropractic Technique lab

The Chiropractic Technique lab is designed for up to 72 students to visualize and practice their techniques for the spine and extremities and soft tissue. The state of the art AV projection with digital capture allows students to film their procedures and replay them immediately. There are 36 various chiropractic treatment tables throughout this lab. Recently 5 full torso mannequins have been acquired for the students to practice their manual skills.
